As part of the International Exhibition of Research, Innovation and Food Safety, at the end of the conference "Safeguarding the Made in Italy agro-food from frauds and Fake News", the "Future Generations" awards were presented to those who, with their commitment has achieved a best practice or have nevertheless made an important contribution to sustainability, food security and the fight against food waste.
Milena Gabanelli, television journalist and the Carioni Food & Health company of Trescore Cremasco stand out among the winners this year. With a short and controlled agricultural supply chain, they produce and sell their fresh and seasoned cheeses directly.
The motivations for the prize. The committee awarded the prize to the Carioni farm for having always invested on sustainability factors, such as animal welfare, the reduction of CO2, the production of renewable energy, the short supply chain and the growth of the company on the basis of the values of circular economy, combining innovation and respect for traditions with environmental sustainability.
" An award that makes us happy, commented Tommaso Carioni, - and confirms the vision we had years ago: transforming the company on the principles of a circular economy to guarantee the entire production cycle within it ".
